Upcoming Calendar of Dances
QCD holds monthly dances, with a break during the summer. If there's a potluck dinner
before the dance, it will be noted next to the date, and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The
Newcomer's Orientation begins at 7:30 p.m. This is a teaching
session, during which the caller will teach some of the basic dance
figures (balance and swing, dosidos, allemandes, etc.) and will explain
how the dance is oriented and some basic dance conventions. Anyone new
to contra dancing is encouraged to attend the orientation, but it is not
required.
The regular dance begins at
8:00 p.m.

Our dance location
is at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of
Atlanta, located at
1911 Cliff Valley Way, N.E., on the northbound access road to I-85
between North Druid Hills Road and Clairmont Road, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tickets cost $9.00 for adults, and $5.00 for students or children between nine
and eighteen years of age, and may be purchased at the door. Children
under nine years of age may enter free of charge. No childcare is
provided - parents should read the information on the
For Parents page.
All QCD dances are
held in an alcohol- and drug-free, non-smoking environment. In
addition, the UUCA is a fragrance-free zone, so please refrain from
using scented perfumes, colognes and lotions.
Dancers must wear non-marring shoes -- either dance shoes or rubber
soled sneakers/shoes, or plan to dance in socks! |
